Certification policies
The terms that apply to all Claude partner certification exams.
Before you register
When you register for an exam you agree to the Certification Terms and Conditions, the Certification Exam Policy, and the Anthropic Usage Policy. If anything on this page conflicts with those documents, those documents apply.
Your certification belongs to you, not to your employer. It stays with you if you change jobs, and a partner can't reassign it to another person. It isn't a guarantee of your skills. If you certified through a partner, we may share your exam results and certification status with them.
Registration and scheduling
Register from the certification page using your partner account, and pay at the time you register. Exams are delivered through Pearson VUE, and Pearson will email you scheduling instructions once you've registered. There's no deadline for sitting the exam, so you can schedule it whenever you're ready.
Rescheduling and cancellation
You can reschedule or cancel free of charge as long as you do it at least 24 hours before your appointment, and cancelling in that window gets you a full refund. If you reschedule or cancel less than 24 hours before, or you don't show up, you forfeit the fee.
Retakes
If you don't pass, you can retake the exam after a waiting period, and the wait gets longer with each attempt: 14 days after your first failed attempt, 30 days after your second, and 90 days after your third. Each attempt costs the standard exam fee, and any partner discount you'd get on a first attempt applies to retakes the same way.
You can take the same exam up to four times in any 12-month period. Both the waiting period and the attempt count reset when the exam moves to a new version. These limits apply to each exam separately, so not passing one certification doesn't stop you from registering for a different track. If you pass, you can't retake the exam to improve your score.
Validity and recertification
Certifications are valid for 12 months from the date you earn them. Before yours expires, you can renew it for free by passing an open-book online assessment on Anthropic Partner Academy, which extends your certification for another 12 months from your current expiration date. You can retake that assessment as many times as you need. If your certification lapses, you'll need to pass the full exam again to regain it.
If we substantially update an exam, holders may need to pass the current version to stay certified.
Proctoring and exam conduct
Exams can be completed online or at a test center. You'll need a valid, unexpired government-issued ID, a private room, and a stable internet connection, and the name on your ID has to match the name on your registration. If you need to correct the name on your registration, email certifications-support@anthropic.com before you schedule.
Pearson will send you detailed instructions covering what you can bring, how your testing environment needs to be set up, and how the session is monitored, and you're expected to follow them. Anthropic and Pearson may verify your identity and monitor your session, including through audiovisual recording. Prohibited conduct is set out in the Certification Exam Policy, and Pearson maintains its own rules for the testing environment.
If we find that you cheated or committed fraud, we may ask you to retake the exam, require that you take future exams at a test center rather than online, invalidate your result, suspend or revoke a certification, or bar you from the program. Serious cases such as theft of exam content or organized cheating may be referred for legal action. Where we see a pattern of misconduct involving people from the same partner organization, we may also take action under that partner's agreement with Anthropic. Fees are not refunded. You can appeal any of these decisions.
Appeals
If you disagree with a decision we made about your certification, or you believe your result is wrong, you can appeal by contacting Pearson support within 14 days. The 14 days run from the date we notify you of a decision, or from your exam date if you're disputing a result.
Appeals cover decisions like declining to issue a certification, invalidating a result, suspending or revoking a certification, or barring someone from the program. They also cover a failed result you believe should have been a pass, including a question you think was faulty or an exam that didn't match the published exam guide. We'll investigate and come back to you with the outcome and any next step, such as a retake. Disputing a question doesn't change a pass or fail on its own, and if we confirm a question was faulty and it affected your result, the remedy is a free retake rather than a changed score.
Technical problems during the exam, and account or access issues, go to support and aren't handled as appeals.
Reporting a problem with a question
If a question looks factually wrong, unclear, has more than one defensible answer, or doesn't match the exam guide, report it to Pearson. Anyone can do this, whether they passed or failed, and reporting a problem never counts against you or affects your result. This is different from an appeal: an appeal disputes your result, while a report flags a problem with the content itself.
Accommodations
If you need testing accommodations, request them through Pearson before you schedule your exam here: Accommodation process: Anthropic. Pearson reviews and administers each request individually, and accommodations have no effect on your score.
Confidentiality
Exam content is confidential. By taking an exam you agree not to share, reproduce, or discuss the questions in any form, including in study groups and online forums. These obligations are part of the Certification Terms and Conditions and the Certification Exam Policy, which you accept when you register.
Availability
Exams aren't available everywhere, and Anthropic may exclude specific countries or regions.
