Preparing your computer and network for your online exam
Claude certification exams taken online are delivered through Pearson using OnVUE, Pearson's online proctoring service. You download and run the OnVUE application on your own computer, and a proctor monitors the session remotely. Work through the three steps below before your exam appointment.
This page applies to online proctored exams only. If you're taking your exam at a Pearson test center, the equipment is provided and none of this applies.
Run the system test
Run the system test on the computer and network you plan to use for your exam, and review the full technology requirements as well.
If the system test flags a problem, use Steps 2 and 3 to resolve it, then run the test again. Two things to keep in mind about the result.
Confirm the required domains are reachable
These domains and all of their subdomains must be reachable from your network for Pearson online exam delivery. If your system test flags any of them, contact your corporate network administrator.
Shut down applications that block the exam
If any of the following are running, the exam application may not launch. Close them before your appointment, using the list that matches the computer you are testing on.
Some of these run as background services you may not be able to stop yourself. Your IT or security team can allow domains and shut down applications for you — ask early rather than on exam day.
"Claude" here refers to the Claude desktop application.
If your company computer or network will not work
If your network cannot allow the required domains, or you cannot shut down the applications listed above, or you are still having problems after doing both, we recommend one of these two alternatives.
